Proudly bred here at Jackson & Perkins, we introduced this stunning floribunda in 2014, and we’ve been so delighted with it, we’re sure you’ll fall in love with it as well, allowing it to welcome guests to your home and garden with its clusters of yellow, spice-scented blossoms with dark yellow stamens that glow like drops of golden sunshine. Each 3-inch bloom is comprised of 15 delicately ruffled petals, opening from attractive classically pointed buds. As with all floribundas, they arise in clusters, which when snipped, create sensational bouquets all on their own.
The 4-foot-high and 3-foot-wide shrub is cloaked in healthy, glossy, dark green foliage, from which the blossoms stand out like bright beacons in the night. Friend’s Embrace makes a gorgeous addition to sunny borders, beds, and hedges, as well as patio containers. Growing more and more beautiful with each passing year, this is one floribunda rose you do not want to miss, so be sure to plant a bush (or two) around your home for a welcome splash of color.
Friend’s Embrace will happily grow in the ground or in a container, but if placed in a patio container, it will require winter protection. Provide loamy, well-drained soil and a spot that receives full sun. Prune it in spring by removing any old or dead canes as well as any that cross. We recommend that if you live in warmer climates, you trim back the rest of the canes by about one-third, and a bit more in colder areas.
