A striking floribunda rose, hybridized by the late Dr. Griffith Buck, Distant Drums flowers heavily in continuous waves over a long season, from late spring to late fall. Borne in small clusters, the 3-inch flowers spiral open from brunette buds. The ruffled double blooms have a moderate myrrh fragrance and a unique coloration, with the warm tan hue of the 35 to 40 petals heavily washed in orchid pink. The flowers are ideal for cutting. Just one snip makes a lovely bouquet.
Distant Drums is a medium sized shrub with an upright, rounded, bushy habit and very good disease resistance. Highly versatile, floribunda roses make excellent landscape, garden bed, hedge, border, and container plants.
