Crystal Fountain Clematis is a five-month blooming fountain.
Frills and thrills is the best way to describe this relentless climber. Its beautiful blue flowers resemble pompon-like blooms that keep appearing steadily for straight five months during the growing season. The blooms are 5 inches wide and come by dozens on a six-foot high plant that can spread up to three feet in width. The vibrant growth can be expected if the shrub is planted in well prepared soil that can be kept moist and well nourished. Crystal Fountain Clematis prefers full sun and is not suitable for container planting.
Pruning is important for clematis. Old branches, stems and flowers should be regularly removed to encourage new growth, and the plant can be cut back in early spring to retain its decorative shape. Crystal Fountain Clematis requires some attention and regular fertilization with organic matter. The existing soil can be mixed with mulch for additional nourishment. The roots of the plant should be kept cool and the top warm. This plant requires at least 6-8 hours of sun exposure for best results.
