A reblooming azalea from Proven Winners®, Perfecto Mundo Epic Coral sets large clusters of coral-pink flowers, not for mere weeks, but for months. The flowers have lacy petaloid stamens at their centers that give them a full, semidouble look. This evergreen azalea blooms on old wood in spring; and later, after a brief rest, it blooms on new wood in midsummer, continuing until autumn frosts. A light pruning after the spring bloom will encourage new growth and new blooms.
Award-winning plant breeder Dr. Tom Ranney of NCSU created this revolutionary series. Evergreen azaleas with a neat, dense, mounded habit of handsome dark green foliage and lacebug resistance that bloom in spring, late summer, and right into fall—what more could you want?
Shown to best effect when mass planted, Perfecto Mundo Epic Coral grows to a good size for a wide variety of landscaping applications. It’s perfect for creating drifts of color in perennial beds, mixed borders, and foundations. But it’s also a beautiful specimen.
An easy-care plant, Perfecto Mundo Epic Coral prefers full to part sun and cool, light, evenly moist, fast-draining soil with high organic matter and an acidic pH of 5 to 6.
