The extra large flower spikes, dense with purple blooms, are borne on thick, sturdy stems, which improve winter survival in colder climates. The nectar-rich flowers are sweetly fragrant and extremely pollinator friendly, attracting tons of bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds.

A Buddleia hybrid, commonly called butterfly bush, Pugster Amethyst is a colorful shrub with a compact, mounding habit and vigorous growth. If allowed, butterfly bush will self-seed, so consider placement carefully. It is a perfect specimen, container, or mixed bed plant but is shown to best effect massed or grouped.

An easy-grow, easy-care shrub, butterfly bush performs best in sunny locations with average, medium moist, well-draining soil.
