This 2014 Jackson & Perkins introduction has some of the most irresistible blooms we’ve ever seen. Each 4- to 5-inch blossom opens from an elegant pointed, ovoid bud, displaying 30 to 35 clean white petals flushed with the palest pink. Its color led to its name, as it recalls fluffy summer clouds reflecting the first rays of a setting sun. Arising on long, sturdy 14- to 18-inch stems, just made for cutting, the sweetly scented blooms fill home and garden with a strong old rose fragrance.
Reaching a mature size of 4 feet high and wide, the bush is covered in healthy dark green leaves that stay attractive all season long. Its manageable size makes it ideal for a variety of settings, including beds, mixed perennial borders, and even patio containers.
Plant this rose in medium-moisture, slightly acidic, well-drained, loamy soil in a garden spot that receives full sun. Water it deeply and regularly, in the morning whenever it’s possible, avoiding overhead watering if you can. Make sure it has good air circulation and provide a layer of mulch during the summer months to help the soil retain moisture.
