‘Lucifer’ is an eye-catching and very garden-worthy Crocosmia (Montbretia), excellent when used in the border, where its long stalks and vibrant red flowers can set any landscaping design ablaze with beauty. This flower is a perfect way for gardens in the northern regions to bring a touch of tropical flair home. The stems provide an elegant, delicate look, topped by fiery red flowers from midsummer into early fall.
However, even when not in bloom, Crocosmia ‘Lucifer’ has long, thin leaves that serve as an attractive addition in beds as a green filler. ‘Lucifer’ grows straight upward, neat and tidy, reaching 3 to 4 feet high in full flower, but stretching only 18 inches wide.
