This low-maintenance Dianthus ‘Paint the Town Magenta’ provides vibrant magenta blooms which emerge against low mounded blue-green foliage, first in late spring to early summer, then again in fall! Dianthus ‘Paint the Town Magenta’is a wonderful addition to your sunny borders, the foundation, or garden pathways.
The fragrance of this Pinks is light and clove-scented, as sweet as you could wish but never cloying. The blooms are rich pink to bright magenta, with neatly “pinked” edges, and the foliage is a rich shade of blue. Held well below the foliage, it keeps Dianthus ‘Paint the Town Magenta’ attractive all summer.
Most striking is this new Dianthus’s resistance to heat, though. Unlike others, which tend to melt out in long hot summers, Dianthus ‘Paint the Town Magenta’ holds up beautifully. It doesn’t mind a bit of drought, either!
This Pinks is a great choice for any setting. It loves full sun, tolerates a bit of shade, repels pests with its fragrance, and attracts pollinators. What more could any perennial do?!
