Gigantic bloom clusters in powdery blue or pink.
The Endless Summer Hydrangea shrub is breathtaking with gigantic, 8- to 10-inch blossom clusters that are bright pink or powdery blue, depending upon the soil?s acidity. Its flowering season is from early summer into fall. It has been bred to be impervious to early frosts. It blooms on old and new wood and produces weeks and weeks of flowering blossoms even in the North. It is a repeat bloomer if the spent heads are removed.
This plant is easy to maintain and grows to a height of 3 to 5 feet and a width of 3 to 5 feet. It prefers full sunlight to partial shade, needing more sunlight the further north it is grown. It also fares well in moist, well-drained soil. Acidic soil produces blue blossoms, and alkaline soil produces pink. It is very heat and humidity tolerant and cold and frost hardy. Endless Summer makes a great foundation, border or low hedge. It can also be used as a cut flower or ornamental.
