Raven is a stylish new Cranesbill (Hardy Geranium) you simply must try in the shade border. Unlike older varieties, it is bushy and full, reaching up to 2 feet high and wide in full bloom. And its flowers are one of a kind—a deep, midnight violet that looks black from even a few feet away, but secretly boasts streaks of blue and even deep red. The eye of each bloom is white, adding a sparkle to the bold presentation.
These 1-inch blooms begin in mid-spring in many climates, continuing right on through late summer. They dot the well-branched, billowy plant, standing out nicely among the large, lobed, soft green foliage.
