An absolute “must have” heuchera, ‘Georgia Peach’ astounds and delights with giant, rounded leaves of silvery peach with deep rose tints and prominent veining. It’s an understatement to say that this is an attention-getting plant; the only word that really describes it is “eye-popping”.

Content in sun or shade, this Janet Egger introduction reaches just 14 inches high (when not in bloom) and 2 feet wide, but the individual leaves can grow quite large—8 inches is not unheard of. It leafs out in mid-spring with pinkish orange tones overlaid with a silvery sheen, and by early summer, it is topped with clusters of ivory blooms on 30-inch stems. Hummingbirds and butterflies love these blooms, visiting frequently during this period.

As the summer heat sets in, Heuchera ‘Georgia Peach,’ a highly heat- and humidity-tolerant plant, flourishes in border or container, its leaves becoming a bit less brilliant, only to rebound into glory with shades of pink, red, and burgundy in autumn. This color continues through winter in mild and warm climates, where Heuchera ‘Georgia Peach’ is evergreen.

The H. villosa parentage of Heuchera ‘Georgia Peach’ is responsible for much of its adaptability to heat, and it also possesses all the vigor you would expect of a native American plant.
