With her glorious red blooms robust stems, attractive foliage and manageable habit, Invincebelle Ruby is a real achievement in the horticultural world. Its bold red bloom clusters are the first of its kind for smooth hydrangea and they certainly make a statement, especially paired against its handsome verdant foliage. While we’d be happy with just red flowers Ruby doesn’t stop there. Its flowers are initially a dark maroon which then turns to a bright scarlet and finally a blushing pink.
If you can’t get enough of seeing this hydrangea outside you can certainly clip those robust stems and bring that elegant beauty inside to decorate vases and dinner tables. Because of Ruby’s middle of the road size it can fit perfectly well in beds and containers just as well. Ruby prefers moist yet well drained soil and isn’t fussy about soil conditions, making her quite flexible in the landscape.
