Plant Lilium ‘Primrose Hill’ in very early spring, and in summer, it blooms in majestic, upward-facing, trumpet-shaped white flowers with red anthers, lilac picotee, a gold band on petals, and a strong, spicy scent. Borne on long, erect, unbranched stems layered in linear leaves, the exotic blooms attract pollinators to the garden, especially bees and butterflies, and make excellent cut flowers.
A Lilium orientalis, commonly called lily or oriental lily, ‘Primrose Hill’ is an herbaceous perennial with an upright, very vertical habit. A great container and garden plant, it is perfect as a specimen or massed in mixed beds and borders.
Cold hardy, easy-care plants, lilies grow best in a sunny to partly shady location with rich, organic, medium moist, well-draining soil. Plants should not be allowed to dry out. Mulching will help keep the soil moist and cool. This plant is not pet friendly.
