A miniature garden rose, Rose Red Sunblaze blooms repeatedly throughout the season. Borne in small sprays, the 1- to 2-inch cuplike flowers are semidouble with 15 to 25 petals in a bright bold red hue. The flowers have a very slight scent and make cute kitchen table bouquets.
Red Sunblaze is a very compact, easy-grow shrub with a rounded, bushy habit of glossy dark green leaves and superior disease resistance. Miniature roses are ideal for containers and small garden spaces. In patio pots, they are perfect on decks, balconies, porches, patios, and even tabletops. In the garden, they are shown to best effect massed or grouped, nice in the front of beds and borders and as edging or ground cover.
Red Sunblaze was introduced in France under the name Prince Meillandina®, and the fact that the Meilland family put their own name on this red charmer indicates how much faith they have in its resilience, beauty, and garden appeal.
