As the name suggests, Sweetness is a delightful treat for all of your senses. Vigorous, heat tolerant, very low-maintenance, and healthy, Sweetness bursts with soft lavender color and fills your garden (and your vases) with clusters of 4- to 5-inch, high-centered hybrid tea blooms that appear in flushes throughout the early- to late-summer growing season. Each gorgeous double blossom is packed with 30 petals, making it a truly stunning cut rose. Bred from the richly fragrant French rose, Melody Parfumee™, it offers an intoxicatingly sweet lemon fragrance powerful enough to fill an entire garden. Created by reknowned rose breeder, Dr. Keith Zary, Sweetness is a must-have for gardeners looking for exceptional beauty coupled with superior garden performance. With its color, aroma, and lovely bush form, it’s sure to stop traffic.
Growing to about 5 feet high and 3 to 4 feet wide, this grandiflora rose is cloaked in glossy, dark green foliage that will keep it attractive even when it’s not in bloom. This is one rose you’ll want to grace your beds, borders, and obviously, the cut garden.
Plant Sweetness in well-drained soil that receives full sun. We recommend you prune this rose plant in the spring. Old and dead wood should be removed and any canes that cross should be cut back. Gardeners in warmer climates need to cut back the remaining canes by about one-third, while those in colder areas will want to prune a little more than that.
